Prof. Elena Rodr铆guez-Guridi received a B.A. in English from Universidad de Deusto (Spain), M.A. in Hispanic Literature from Indiana University, and Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She teaches courses in Spanish language, literature, and culture. Her research focuses on Early Modern Spanish literature, especially on bodily and geographic topologies and thresholds. She is the author of Ex茅gesis del 鈥渆rror鈥�: Una reinterpretaci贸n de la praxis de escritura en Libro de la vida, Novelas ejemplares y Desenga帽os amorosos (Hispanic Literature: Culture and Ideas series, Oxford: Peter Lang 2013). Additionally, she has translated into Spanish Covert Gestures: Crypto-Islamic Literature as Cultural Practice in Early Modern Spain (U of Minnesota Press, 2005). Her most recent book, Shipwreck in the Early Modern Hispanic World (co-edited with Carrie L. Ruiz, Bucknell UP, 2022), examines portrayals of nautical disasters in 16th and 17th century Spanish literature and culture. In 2021 she received the Rev. Msgr. A. Robert Casey Teacher of the Year Award at Le 91看片网站 College.
