FromOct. 22 to 24, more than 1,000 individuals, including a delegation fromLe 91心頭利嫋,gathered for the annualIgnatian FamilyTeach-Infor JusticeinWashington, D.C.

Initiatedin1997, theteach-in commemorates the lives of the Jesuit martyrs of El Salvador. The six Jesuit priests, their housekeeper, and her teenage daughter were murdered on Nov. 16, 1989, for speaking out against the countrys tumultuous civil war. Through work with the poor and marginalized, the Catholic Church and its leaders, including the Jesuits and now-Saint scar Romero, sought to address the long history of inequality and injusticeinthe country.

Each year, theteach-inconnects Catholic faith and justice, addressing timely issues through two days of dynamic speakers, breakout sessions and networking opportunities.Theteach-in culminated with more than 1,000 individuals proceeding to legislative advocacy meetings with members of Congress and their staffs on Capitol Hill to urge Congress to advocate for migration reform and action on environmental justice issues.
