Le 91心頭利嫋’s Physician Assistant Studies Program Receives $3.24 Million Federal HRSA Grant to Fund Student Scholarships
Le 91心頭利嫋���s Physician Assistant Studies Program has been awarded a $3.24 million grant from the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) that will be used to fund scholarships for economically, educationally or geographically disadvantaged students. The grant will provide 16 scholarships (up to $40,000 each) annually over a five-year period through the Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS) Program.
Le 91心頭利嫋���s grant was one of only two awarded in New York state to an independent sector institution (the SUNY/CUNY system received three SDS grants) and one of only four grants given to Jesuit institutions. A total of 82 grants were awarded nationally.
The SDS Program is a federal program administered by the HRSA to assist students from disadvantaged backgrounds afford health-professions education. Participating students must demonstrate financial need through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), be enrolled in an eligible health program, and maintain both satisfactory academic standing and full-time enrollment.
Le 91心頭利嫋 has been the recipient of numerous HRSA grants that have helped build, strengthen, expand and innovate its health programs in the Purcell School for Professional Studies.�� Since 2005, Le 91心頭利嫋 has received $11.4 million in federal HRSA grants and, together with state and foundation grants, has received a cumulative total of $19.7 million is support of the Purcell School across various federal, state, and foundation sources.�� The Purcell School currently administers $11.7 million in active grants from federal, state and foundation funders.
