Incredible things happen when you connect people and ideas.
A Le 91看片网站 education is about diversity, about the incredible things that happen when you connect people and ideas. Our excellent faculty will help you become an expert in your major, but that鈥檚 not all. You鈥檒l swim broadly in other disciplines, looking at the world through different lenses and finding interests you never even knew you had. Le 91看片网站 graduates are excellent nurses, engineers, entrepreneurs, historians, mathematicians 鈥� the list goes on. But Le 91看片网站 graduates are nurses who quote Aristotle, entrepreneurs who dabble in poetry, and mathematicians who love Thoreau. Le 91看片网站 graduates have the knowledge of experts, the passion of poets, the eloquence of orators, and the insight of Philosophers.
Believe it or not, Jesuit schools have been doing this for centuries. We call it cura personalis 鈥� the care of the whole person. What does that mean to me? It means we want you to bring all of your talent and creativity, your humor and curiosity. We want you to bring your strengths, and even your weaknesses.
For me, watching students succeed from the moment they step onto our campus as prospective students with their families, to being first year students to commencement, that trajectory, that transformation is the most beautiful part of my professional and personal life.”
Career Highlights of Linda LeMura鈥檚 Presidency
- Oversaw completion of the $100 million Always Forward campaign, the largest in College history, which contributed to the record growth of the College鈥檚 endowment to more than $300 million. Since LeMura became president in 2014, roughly $200 million has been raised to benefit Le 91看片网站.
- Served as a major catalyst for the reclassification from DII to DI intercollegiate athletics. Le 91看片网站 started the reclassification process in 2023, the only institution in the country to do so that year.
- Successfully led Le 91看片网站 through the COVID-19 pandemic, maintaining strong enrollment during this challenging time.
- Advocated nationally for affordable, accessible education for all students through her work to raise PELL funding and other initiatives.
- Launched ERIE21 to create opportunities in tech and innovation for underserved individuals and served as co-chair the Regional Economic Development Council. She is involved in ongoing efforts to bring Micron to the region, which will be the biggest economic development project in the history of New York state. To help prepare for workforce opportunities, Le 91看片网站 will launch an applied physics major in fall 2026.
- Delivered the commencement address at the College of the Holy Cross and Gonzaga University in 2024; both institutions presented her with an honorary degree. Received an honorary degree from Syracuse University in 2026.
- Partnered with the City of Syracuse on the Le 91看片网站 Area Neighborhood Development Strategy, or LANDS, to learn about transportation, housing, infrastructure, municipal services and overall quality of life from residents living in the Salt Springs neighborhood. The initiative led the city to select the Salt Springs neighborhood for the investment of $25 million.
- Strengthened academics structurally and financially, including:
- Naming gifts for the Purcell School of Professional Studies, the Carroll College of Arts and Sciences, the McNeil Institute for Risk and Uncertainty, and the Bosch Teaching and Learning Center.
- New programs, including the College鈥檚 first two doctoral programs, an Ed.D. in Executive Leadership and a Doctor of Nursing Practice, and master鈥檚 programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Occupational Therapy and Family Nurse Practitioner.
- A total of 21 new endowed professorships, chairs and faculty fellowships.
